In order for application of clean production or laboratory environment to be effective and for Clean Room status to be preserved, cleaning is crucial.

1. Preventing the introduction of contamination

Strictly control the entry and exit of personnel and materials

Personnel need to pass through the Air Shower room before entering the Clean Room, wearing clean clothes, gloves, masks and other protective equipment.

Materials need to be cleaned and sterilized before entering, and enter through the Pass Box.

Reduce the source of pollution

Prohibit bringing non-essential items into the Cleanroom.

Use dust-free tools and low dust-generating materials.

2. By cleaning and disinfection of rooms, objects and surfaces on daily basis.

Schedule the cleaning based on daily, weekly or monthly cleaning depending on cleanroom class and activity.

Special emphasis should be placed on high frequency contact areas (such as benches, floors and equipment surfaces).

Cleaning Methods

Avoid using dust crested mops, dust crested garments and tends and also avoid using ordinary cleaning products.

Cleaning beginning from a high Clean Room to the low Clean Room should be followed to prevent transfer of bacteria back to the clean environment.

To clean the surface use sodium hypochlorite, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide to eliminate microorganisms within a specified interval.

3. Monitoring and Maintenance

Environmental monitoring

Periodically, the concentration of particles, microbial number and differential pressure in the cleanroom must be evaluated to conform with cleanliness classification.

Take particle counters and microbial samplers also to allow live monitoring and comparisons on ways to improve aseptic conditions.

Equipment Maintenance

Change the HEPA/ULPA filter and control the working condition of the air supply system at a fixed time.

It is necessary to make the confirming that the cleanroom HVAC system work and preserve minimum temperature, moisture, and differential pressure.
